Client Testimonials

Working with ‘Guy With Glasses’ has raised the quality of our MarCom materials to the highest level we’ve ever achieved. Not only is John a fantastic graphic artist proficient in the latest tools, he invests the time to learn the product and understand our communication goals. With a mind for marketing and an emphasis on program objectives, he asks thought provoking questions to help streamline a deliberate message and avoid costly mistakes. We are extremely impressed with the work John has done for us, especially the harmonization of our print, web and trade advertising materials. His focused, easy to work with approach and creative emphasis on the message has helped us set the new standard in our industry.

John helped us with a tremendously important project on a short deadline. We highly endorse him and found him to be patient, professional and willing to deal with our multiple demands and overall OCD behavior.

I like to think of John as a thinking person's graphic designer. Whether it's an annual report, or a simple brochure, or even a coffee-table book, he brings an intelligence and perceptiveness that emerges in his design. It's like, I'm the word person, and he's the design person, and we come from different places, but we are both absolutely in synch, on the exact same page. He's not precious about his design, any more than I'm precious about my words. What you get with him is always — I mean always — professional, beautiful, understated but distinctive, right on message. He can be mildly annoying about pursuing every last detail of a project, but in the end, he's well worth it. I recommend him highly.

John was the graphic designer for our alumni magazine, Focus. He redesigned our existing magazine to bring it to the next level of quality as the flagship publication for the institution. His concepts were creative, his understanding of the University culture was excellent, and his skill and professionalism were always top-notch. John took initiative to produce a magazine that we were all proud to distribute. He worked well with our editor, the staff in our department, and the printers. His humor and easygoing nature had a calming influence on me during the difficult phases of each production cycle. His attention to detail was outstanding. Our department has grown, and we now produce the magazine in-house, but would otherwise certainly still be using John’s services and skill.

John Devanski and I have been together for more than thirty magazines, not to mention annual reports and copious other promotional collateral. That’s more than a decade, way more than 60 rounds of edits, and probably as many cups of coffee.

At the risk of having to share John with other clients, I will say this. John is an artist. He is a cogitator. He is a consumer of my words. He ingests our stories, so he knows how to translate them to design. And, technically his work is pristine. I have never had an issue with his files on press.

But the real reason that John and I have been together so long is this: His Babci is a fabulous cook and sometimes I reap the benefits.

John Devanski is a complete and fully-diversified web designer. He has a rare blend of both technological and creative skills. He quickly and accurately assessed my needs and sensibilities, and proceeded to develop a website that astounded me. I could not have asked for more. The site is very pleasing to view, easy to navigate, and completely effective for the intended purpose. It precisely represents who I am and what I offer. I am proud to send clients to the site, and I often receive comments praising its quality and professionalism.

I have worked with John for years on sizeable projects such as recruitment viewbooks and the College's alumni magazine. In each instance John's concepts are right on target for the type of student we are recruiting.

In addition, John's files are print-ready every time. I know once a project gets to prepress we are rolling towards our delivery date without issue. I appreciate his keen eye for color and willingness to evaluate printer's proofs and attend press checks when asked. Despite our delays and author's alterations, John never ceases to say "yes" and will do what it takes to keep the project moving. He's a pleasure to work with.

John is always willing to do the hard work necessary to understand his clients’ businesses, their competition, and their challenges. He is a strategic thinker driven to look deeper and seek out that unique hook and big idea that solves the communications problem. Because of that commitment and design talent, he is always a great person for me to collaborate with; I know our work will always be spot on and the client will be well-served.
